Dear friend,

I want to tell you why we began, in the simplest way I can.

In every life there comes a moment when money suddenly matters more than anything else. A mother stands holding a prescription she cannot afford. A child drinks water that is not clean, because there is nothing else to drink. A father sits by a grave, wondering how he will pay. A daughter's wedding is postponed again, because nothing has been put aside.

We have seen those faces. We have sat in those rooms. They are not "cases" to us. They are our neighbours, and on another day, they could have been us.

So we made a promise to ourselves: whatever you place in our hands is an amanah. Every rupee is written down, every receipt is kept, and you can always see where your gift went.
